Rosatom signs deal on pilot lithium carbonate unit with YLB
MOSCOW, Dec 13 (PRIME) -- Uranium One Group, a subsidiary of Russian state nuclear power corporation Rosatom, has signed an agreement with Bolivian state company Yacimientos de Litio Bolivianos (YLB) to build a pilot unit for production of lithium carbonate, Uranium One said in a statement on Wednesday.
The unit will be built at the Uyuni Salt Flat, and will use Russia’s technology for direct lithium sorption leaching, the company said.
In June, Uranium One Group and YLB signed a U.S. $600 million framework agreement to build a facility to produce lithium carbonate with the capacity of 25,000 tonnes per year.
